Bronco Brag 🐴 Help us congratulate Enrike on his Bronco Brag! He stayed after three days this week to pick up trash in the lunchroom. We are proud of the leadership and positive example he shows to other students. Great job Enrike!

In the “We Build It Better” classes students learned how to fasten two materials together with different types of fasteners and different types of tools. Great job!

⭐STAFF SPOTLIGHT⭐ Meet Mrs. Brannan! How many years have you worked at Holly Pond? I taught for 32 years and retired. I’ve had the privilege of working part-time as Secretary for the last 6 years. Favorite Food- Shrimp Favorite Movie- I don’t really have a favorite movie but I love mystery books and movies. Favorite Quote- “Anyone who does anything to help a child in his life is a hero” Fred Rogers Interesting Fact- I was detained by armed security in a South Korean airport on a trip to Guam. If you could travel anywhere, where would you go?- I would love to visit Alaska and of course anywhere my sons are living. What do you enjoy most about working in an elementary school? It is such an amazing mission field where you have the opportunity to make a difference in a child’s life. Thank you for all that you have done and Holly Pond and continue to do! We are proud to call you a Bronco!

HP K-8 would like to thank Sheriff Gentry and the Cullman Sheriff Office for hosting our students at the Sheriff's Rodeo today. Our kids came back so excited and said they had a blast! Thanks for organzing this special event. The rodeo will be held both Friday and Saturday this weekend. Gates open at 5 pm and the rodeo will begin at 7:30 pm.

A blood drive will be held at Holly Pond School tomorrow, December 6th. It is from 8 am- 2 pm in the Middle School Gym (Old Gym).

The Holly Pond Elementary Christmas Choir concert will be December 16th during school at 9 am. The concert will be held in the old gym.

If you could travel anywhere, where would you go?- The Holy Land What do you enjoy most about working in a K- 8 school? There is no other joy than hearing "Mrs. Carter" in a public place and turning to see a little hand waving as hard as it can and it's even better when it is accompanied by a hug! Coach Glasscock, Coach Hartline, and the Holly Pond Varsity basketball teams invite all Holly Pond youth basketball players to come cheer on the Broncos for youth night on December 8th. **Any player who wears his or her youth jersey to the games will get in free with a paying adult. **6th Grade Girls will be recognized at halftime of the varsity girls game. 6th Grade Boys will be recognized at halftime of the varsity boys game.

🌲 Holly Pond's Christmas in the Park 🌲 Governor's Park / Dec. 3rd / 5:30-8pm Many exciting events will be happening throughout the night. There will be a Christmas tree lighting, Santa Claus sightings, and a performance from the Holly Pond High School Band and the elementary choir. There will also be four food trucks on site. The elementary choir will perform at 5:30! Beautiful luminaries will line the park as you look at the Christmas Cards made by our community. If you would like to purchase luminaries for your loved ones, most HP businesses are selling them for $1 each. We hope to see you there!

⭐STAFF SPOTLIGHT⭐ Meet Mrs. Hawkins! How many years have you worked at Holly Pond? - This is my 20th year teaching and my 19th year at Holly Pond. Favorite Food- Grilled Chicken with southern white sauce Favorite Movie- Steel Magnolias Favorite Quote- Erma Bombeck: "When I stand before God at the end of my life, I would hope that I would not have a single bit of talent left, and could say, 'I used everything He gave me'." Interesting Fact- I try to read at least three picture books and one chapter book every week so I can recommend books to our students. If you could travel anywhere, where would you go?- Most definitely, The Holy Land. What do you enjoy most about working in an elementary school? I enjoy talking to students and sharing my love of reading with them. It is so rewarding to see their eyes light up and their joyous grins when they realize they "got it"! I want our students to know that being a proficient reader can totally change the course of their life and open the door to any profession. I want all of our students to experience the joy of learning and to know they are loved beyond measure! Thank you for all of your service at Holly Pond! We are very appreciative of you and glad you are on our team!

Middle School SGA is selling sweatshirts for $25 ($27 for 2XL and 3XL), and the deadline is next Friday (November 11). We can do sizes YS - 3XL. The Veterans Day program will be held at Holly Pond School this Thursday. We will have breakfast for Veterans at 8am in the Old/Middle School Gym and the Veterans Day Program will follow at 9am in the Felton Easterwood Gym.

Check this out! While learning about simple machines, Jackson built a working clock. He was able to calibrate the clock to make a one minute timer. By experimenting with the weight on the pendulum, he was able to change the speed due to the amount of energy needed for it to swing back and forth. Jackson found the position where the pointer takes 60 seconds to make a full revolution around the dial. Great job Jackson!

🚨 Re-make Picture Day 🚨 Re-make picture day will be next Monday, November 7th. This will be for students who were absent on 8/26/22 when we originally had school pictures. These are the pictures that will be in the yearbook.

Edouard Ndecky spoke to Holly Pond K-12 students and he was able to share his story of how a gift from Samaritan's Purse Operation Christmas Child changed the course of his life. The shoebox he received included ordinary household items and small toys. Students learned that lives can be changed by serving others. Holly pond will be shipping shoe boxes with the items students donate. We are accepting any new, unused household items or toys. We will send the shoeboxes to students in need as we approach Christmas time. Check out the list below of items that are needed. Thank you for anything that is donated! We will take donations until November 10th.
